  1. test_kernel_initialization()

    • Verifies CognitiveKernel instantiation
    • Checks initial state (not warmed up, no results)
  2. test_kernel_warmup()

    • Tests warmup() loads 600 glyphs
    • Verifies registry statistics cached
    • Checks startup time recorded
  3. test_kernel_execute_gx()

    • Compiles test .gx file
    • Executes through kernel
    • Validates ExecutionResult structure
    • Verifies fused_symbol and diagnostics
  4. test_kernel_result_accessors()

    • Tests get_last_result()
    • Tests get_last_trace()
    • Tests get_last_fused_symbol()
    • Tests get_last_resonance()
    • Verifies all return correct data after execution
  5. test_kernel_glyph_stats()

    • Tests get_glyph_stats()
    • Verifies 600 glyphs loaded

    • Checks warmup() called automatically

CognitiveKernel Class

  • Initialization with configurable auto-load
  • One-time warmup with glyph loading

  • Result introspection (trace, symbol, resonance)

Functional API

  • Singleton kernel via get_kernel()

11. Design Principles Applied

  1. Separation of Concerns

    • Kernel orchestrates, doesn't implement cognition
    • LAIN engine unchanged, wrapped cleanly
  2. Singleton Pattern

    • One global kernel for resource efficiency
    • Lazy initialization on first use
  3. Result Caching

    • Last result cached for introspection
    • No re-execution overhead for queries
  4. Clean API

    • High-level run_gx() for common case
    • Low-level kernel for advanced use
    • Status introspection without execution
  5. Backwards Compatibility

    • Existing imports work unchanged
    • CLI integration optional
    • No side effects on existing modules
